Yahotyn

The first mention refers to 1522. It was founded by cossacs-settlers from Right-banks Ukraine. In 1648-1654 it was a regimental town. Since 1757 belonged to K.Rozumovs'kyi - last het'man of Ukraine (1750-1764).

The soviet emblem

 

 

The soviet emblem was confirmed at June, 8, 1989. In a gules field is argent arc framed two or ears. There are an azure Sula river with vert banks and argent rotunda on it. Two flying ducks is above rotunda. It's historical building where was T.Shevchenko. There is word "YAHOTYN" and crossed sickle with hammer in a base. The author is V.Prin'ko.
