Myrhorod

It is known since 1575 when king Stephan Batori granted a status of a regimental town to it.According to other souces the town appeared in 1530 when it was given the Magdeburg Right and an emblem - in an azure field there was an or patty cross in the upper part and in base there was an argent eight-pointed star.

The emblem of the Russian period

 

 

The emblem of the Russian period was confirmed on the 4th of June 1782. In an azure field there was an or patty cross in the upper part and in base there was an argent eight-pointed star.

B.Kene project

 

 

At 22.12.1864 B.Kene worked out a project of a new emblem of the town. In an azure field the or cross with broad extremities and a going to the girdle eigth pointed or star. In the canton there was an emblem of Poltavs'ka province. The shield is crown with an argent mauerkrone with three towers and frame with two or ears, which are twine with the ribbon of the Order of St.Alexander.

The modern emblem

 

 

It was confirmed on the 6th of September, 2001. In an azure field there is an or patty cross in the upper part and there is an argent eight-pointed star in base.

It was confirmed on the 6th of September, 2001. It represents a rectangular panel about a ratio of the parts as 1.5:1. In a blue field is yellow patty cross in the upper part and there is white eight-pointed star under it.
