Zolochiv

It was founded in 1677 by settlers from the town of Myshurin Rig.

Since 1685 it was a squadron town of Kharkiv regiment.

The emblem of the Russian period

The emblem of the Russian period was confirmed on the 21st of September 1781. In the upper part of a per fess shield there was Kharkivs'ka emblem. In the lower part in a vert field two pears denoting the abundance of them in that region

B.Kene project

In XIX century B.Kene worked out a project of a new emblem of the town. A shield is crossed by vert and argent; in the first part - argent pear with the leaves which turning down; in the second part - vert pear with the leaves which turning up. In the canton there is an emblem of Kharkivs'ka province. The shield is crown with an argent mauerkrone with three towers and framed with two or ears, which are twined with the ribbon of the Order of St.Alexander. The emblem was not approved.
